Minority Women in the U.S.
Project Proposal
Your IDEA- I want to interview 10 Hispanic women and my own personal story... What I want to do is look at different generations of Hispanic women and find out if there has been any struggles in their lives, how they have overcome the issue, if they are still struggling with the issue and their opinions/ views on equality for women.
Literature Review- I can find articles to support my data and my research design. I have already started looking a mulitple sources and while reading them, I am getting more and more to dig a little deeper into my idea.
Theoretical Perspective- Symbolic Interactionism, Identity, Conflict
Research Methods- Interviews
Research Design- Each participant will be given a consent form before any of the interviews are to be conducted by me. Each participant will also sign a photo release form. Some of my participants I know personally and I know each individual has a story tell (I don't even know what the stories are), other participants are by referral, I like that I can talk to people I don't really know for me that is the most exciting part for me. I am still working on my interview questions, but of course I will start with the basic greeting information. Most of them will be done in person since some of the participants live here in San Antonio, my out of town participants I plan on conducting the interview by Skype or Facetime. I am going to take the pictures myself with my professional camera, I want candid photos, along with each participant hold a sign up displaying what equality means to them.
